Early Exit from US Open Cup, Advances in Strumpf and Marth

In a match that had to be settled in overtime, the NY Pancyprian Freedoms fell to Oyster Bay United FC from the UPSL by 2-0 in a hotly contested battle. The game had unfinished chances for both teams throughout regular time until the goals came in overtime.

With this loss, the NY Pancyprian Freedoms first team is out in the third qualifying round of the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup for 2022. The staff and team will now solely focus on continuing to climb up the table in the Metropolitan Conference of the Eastern Premier Soccer League (EPSL) and winning the league. Next game is against Lansdowne Yonkers FC on Sunday, October 24th at 8pm at Belson Stadium, St. John’s University, Queens, NY.

The hunt for a cup is still on for the NY Pancyprian Freedoms II as they won 3-2 in the first round of the Strumpf Cup against the high flying Amigos FC NY (LIFSL). The game was settled by a worldie from long-time Eleftheria Pancyprian Soccer Club player Jesus Cruz in the final minutes of the game .

And in the first round of the Marth Cup, the NY Pancyprian Freedoms - Over 30 breezed over their opponents with a 10-3 victory over Megas Alexandros FC - Over 30 (LISFL). These wins mean the NY Pancyprians Freedoms are looking to add two new cups to their trophy collection. The next games and opponents will be announced soon.
