EPSC Introduces 5-Day Training Program for Zone 1 Travel Players

Eleftheria Pancyprian Soccer Club (EPSC) is setting a new standard for youth soccer development with an unparalleled commitment to player growth. This spring, EPSC is launching a 7-week, 5-day-a-week training program exclusively for Zone 1 Travel teams (2013-2017 birth years)—a game-changing initiative designed to help young athletes develop into well-rounded, high-level players.

“No other program in the area offers this level of commitment to player development,” said Billy Antoniou, EPSC Executive Director and Zone 1 Director. “By providing five training days per week, we are giving our young players the best possible foundation to improve their technical skills, tactical awareness, and overall athleticism. This program is about setting them up for long-term success on and off the field.”

What Makes This Program Unique?

In addition to their standard twice-a-week team training, all Zone 1 travel players will now have access to a specialized Technical Foundation program—completely free, included in the travel cost! This means players will receive 7.5 hours of structured training each week, significantly accelerating their development.

The program will focus on key individual skills, including:

  • Dribbling – Control, agility, and confidence on the ball

  • 1v1 Attacking & Shooting – Goal-scoring instincts and finishing technique

  • Agility, Balance, Coordination & Speed – Athletic movement fundamentals

  • Defending – Defensive awareness, tackling, and positioning

  • Fitness & Conditioning – Endurance, strength, and injury prevention

A Look at the Weekly Training Schedule

This structured, high-repetition training plan supplements team practices, allowing players to refine their technical abilities in a focused environment. Below is an example schedule for the 2016 boys team:

  • Monday: 6:00 - 7:00 PM | Technical Training

  • Tuesday: 6:00 - 7:00 PM | Passing & Receiving

  • Tuesday: 7:00 - 8:00 PM | Team Training

  • Wednesday: 6:00 - 7:30 PM | Fitness & Conditioning

  • Thursday: 6:00 - 7:00 PM | Defending (Approaching the Ball & Shielding)

Raising the Bar for Youth Soccer

This program is more than just additional training—it’s a commitment to excellence. Led by Panayiotis Onisiforou, head coach of the EPSC 2016 boys and girls team and technical director of the New York Pancyprian Freedoms, this program is equipping players with the technical skills, physical fitness, and mental toughness needed to reach their full potential.

The program kicks off in mid-April and runs for seven weeks. Parents and players are encouraged to take full advantage of this incredible opportunity to elevate their game like never before.
