EPSC to March in the Greek Independence Day Parade on June 5

The Greek Independence Day Parade on 5th Avenue in NYC will take place on Sunday, June 5, 2022. The Greek parade in NYC is the largest parade outside of Greece with tens of thousands of spectators of Hellenic and Philhellenic backgrounds.

Eleftheria Pancyprian Soccer Club will march in the parade to proudly showcase our rich heritage and culture. EPSC has marched in the Greek Independence Day Parade since the clubs founding in 1981. Here are some highlights from the past.

This year’s parade will celebrate the Bicentennial of the Hellenic Independence of 1821, the belated 2500 Year Anniversary of the Battles of Thermopylae, Salamis and Plataea, the 100 Year Anniversary of the GOA, the 100th Year Anniversary of AHEPA, and commemorating the devastating 100th Year Anniversary of the Burning of Smyrna (1922).

All Eleftheria Pancyprian Soccer Club players, coaches and directors will be marching in the parade regardless of ethnicity to show their supports in the ideals of our club. Chartered buses for our marchers will be leaving the Pancyprian Association, 23-15 31 Street in Astoria at 11:30am to get everyone to our parade position.

We believe in our players, our families, our community and our country. Ζήτω η Ελλάς!
