Get to know EPSC Coach Tasos Polydefkis, assistant coach of the NY Pancyprian Freedom.

How do your players describe you as a coach?

The players would say I like to play attacking soccer. I grew up as a defender and matured as an attacker. I’m more the easy going type rather than tough. It's about having a good time but when you get into the older ages it's about competition and winning. Hard work will take you far.

What is the first team you ever coached?

The first team I coached was the Eleftheria Pancyprian U11B. It was the most amazing experience with a great group of kids. We finished as Champions with an undefeated season. Most of those kids are playing in college now.

What are you looking forward to for the 2021/2022 season?

I am looking forward to getting to know the new guys on the NY Pancyprian Freedoms squad and to winning as many Cups as possible. This is a club rich with history and it deserves to be on the top. I have won many titles and competitions in my 17 years with the first team and hope to continue the tradition with the new guys.
