In a thrilling display of confidence and skill, the New York Pancyprian Freedoms overcame a slow start to defeat Hoboken FC 1912 with a scoreline of 4-1. The match, held at Belson Stadium on Sunday, October 29th, showcased the Freedoms' determination and prowess as they answered an early goal and battled past Hoboken's solid defense.

Despite an early lead by Hoboken FC 1912, the Freedoms swiftly regrouped and answered emphatically with an outstanding first-half performance. Johannes Pex emerged as the hero of the day, netting two impressive goals that swung the momentum in favor of the Freedoms.

As the match resumed for the second half, the Freedoms continued their relentless pursuit of victory. Shavon John Brown and El Mahdi Youssoufi sealed the deal with well-executed goals, leaving Hoboken FC 1912 with little room for recovery.

"This victory is a testament to the strength and resilience of our team. It's not always easy to recover from an early setback, but our players showcased their character and skill,” said Panos Onisoforou, Head Coach. “We have a deep and talented squad, and this match exemplified our capabilities."

“We're delighted with our undefeated record in the EPSL, and we're just one point away from the top spot, with an additional game in hand,” said Philip Christopher, President of the New York Pancyprian Freedoms. “Last night's triumph against Hoboken FC ensures our team remains in contention for the first-place position."

The New York Pancyprian Freedoms (5-1-0) have a short rest before taking on Doxa SC (3-1-2) in the Metropolitan Conference of the Eastern Premiere Soccer League (EPSL) on Tuesday, October 31st at Queens College in a Halloween showdown not to be missed!

In the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup, the New York Pancyprian Freedoms eagerly await Massachusetts’ Bay State Soccer League (BSSL) team Brockton FC United in the fourth and final qualifying round on November 18th at Belson Stadium.
