Freedoms With Decisive Victory Over Doxa on Greek Independence Day

On a poignant Sunday evening at Joseph Fosina Field in New Rochelle, the New York Pancyprian Freedoms delivered a striking message of dominance in the Greek football community with a resounding 6-1 victory over Doxa FCW in the Eastern Premiere Soccer League. This match coincided with the celebrations of the Greek Independence Day Parade, adding a festive layer of national pride to the team's victory.

From the outset, the Freedoms set an aggressive pace that Doxa FCW could not match. Junior Rosero, in a remarkable display of skill and precision, netted two goals in the first halg, steering the momentum irreversibly in favor of the Freedoms with Sameer Fathazada and Matthew Forster each adding a goal The scoreboard read 4-0 by halftime. The second half saw Rosero sealing a victory that was both emphatic and symbolic with two more goals.

Coach Onisoforou shared his thoughts on the victory: “Tonight was a showcase of what we train for. Discipline, teamwork, and an unrelenting drive to win. To do so on Greek Independence Day, it’s a proud moment for all of us connected with the club and the wider Greek community. This victory is dedicated to our community."

Let us carry this spirit forward with another win on Thursday, April 18 at Breezy Park in Huntington Station against Suffolk County FC - Kick is at 9:00pm. With a win, the New York Pancyprian Freedoms will jump back to first place in the Metropolitan Conference.
