New York Pancyprian Freedoms Beat KidSuper Samba AC in Thrilling Season Finale
In a match that epitomized the spirit and resilience of the New York Pancyprian Freedoms, our team secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over KidSuper Samba AC last night at Randall's Island. This final game of the 2023/2024 season of the Metropolitan Conference of the Eastern Premier Soccer League was a testament to our determination, culminating in an impressive second-place (16-3-3) finish to the season.
The game started with both teams showcasing their strengths, making it difficult for either side to break the deadlock in the first half. However, a Kid Super red card changed the game, as James Thristino would find the back of the net twice, leave KidSuper Samba AC with no chance.
"Our victory against KidSuper Samba AC shows we are as a team. As we head into the playoffs, our focus is unwavering,” said Panos Onisiforou, Head Coach of the New York Pancyprian Freedoms. “We're ready to face the NY Greek Americans with the same spirit. I believe in our team, and I know we have what it takes to go all the way in the playoffs."
With this victory, the Pancyprian Freedoms have firmly established themselves as formidable contenders heading into the playoffs. The semi-finals of the Metropolitan Conference playoffs is scheduled for Sunday at Belson Stadium, where we will face the third place NY Greek Americans. The kickoff is at 8 PM, and we encourage all supporters to come out and cheer for the team as we embark on our quest for the championship.
